I’ve always had a deep passion for organizing and planning, and I believe that every special event deserves to be stunning. With this philosophy in mind I founded A Tasteful Table in 2000, and have since gained many valuable connections with industry-leading experts and vendors. I’ll work day and night to guarantee that your next event will be filled with unforgettable moments.

A Passion for a Pretty Table and Good Company

When I moved to D.C. from Louisiana three years ago, I somehow made sure to pack some of my platters and my favorite champagne coupes in the many suitcases I moved up one flight at a time. With that, I also brought many cherished memories of my grandmothers and what they passed on to me - a love of entertaining.

Olivier Hughes Concepts (their maiden names) is a way to remember and honor my grandmothers and how they exemplified what hostessing... opening your home and your heart... looks like. My grandmother , (Olivier) left a legacy of a pot of gumbo, neighborhood coffees, and pies every night for anyone to drop by - it makes my heart happy to hear years later to talk to so many who were fed at her table and by her kindness. My grandmother (Hughes) in New Orleans was the epitome of pretty place settings and timeless taste. My favorite pastime was helping her set a formal holiday table and see how effortlessly she made things so special and lovely for her kids and grandchildren. I'm thankful for a mom who personifies both and has never been a shortage of hostessing wisdom.

This idea was born out of what I love, because I think we all would entertain if maybe it was a little easier... or we had a little more time or space. Whether you have the space of a small closet or a large row house, let us help you. We realize your time is precious and space for party essentials might be too, so that's where A Tasteful Table is able to help you - from fun entertaining inspirations, to all the little details and some lagniappe, to equipping and providing you with what you need to create delightful memories and grow friendships, new and old.

In a city where we can all too easily focus on our differences, it's much more delightful to come together over a pretty set table for a fun gathering. I feel very strongly about the difference opening your home (and hearts) can make.
